- But garage sales and thrift stores fortunately are! In addition to the Wico
- Command Control that I bought for $35 new back in 1984, I have one bought
- for $1 at a garage sale, one bought at the Salvation Army store for $1,
- and recently I passed one up at the same store, mint condition in the box,
- for $4. That one was a type where you could change the handle (all three
- handles included) and also configure the buttons to work separately for use
- on a Sega system. I probably should have bought it too, but I've decided
- that $1 is a good price for a joystick, and as long as I can find Wicos for
- that sum, I will keep hoarding them. I figure any system that uses a crappy
- digital 8-direction controller can be rewired to use one of these. Not that
- I have any use for these other systems yet... my 2600 and my C64 and my Amiga
- can all use the sticks as they are, and they work just great for games.
